poor clip design |

The case itself is very nice -- it fits well and offers a decent degree of protection. The problem is with the spring clip holster -- it tends to break after a few months. Read the reviews elsewhere of what others have written about the holster, which can be purchased seperately, and you'll see that this is a common problem. All the more the pity because it works very well as long as it works. I don't know why the manufacturer doesn't reinforce the clip because its problem is well documented. |

The only iPhone holster worth owning! |
This is the only screen-in holster I could find for my iPhone 3G, so I bought it. I have not been disappointed! The holster is solid, swivels two directions, and securely holds the phone. It's easy to release and easy to reload. The snap-together cover has protected my phone successfully through numerous drops with no damage to either the cover or the phone. It leaves the sync/power cable jack available for use, and the phone can be placed in a dock without removing the cover. Buttons, camera lens and headphone jack are also left easily accessible.
I highly recommend this product - so much so that I bought two more: one as a replacement for the original holster (that I broke by being dumb - no fault of Seidio) and one as a spare. I'm now using the holster with my iPhone 4; although the protective cover doesn't fit the 4, the phone fits in the holster just fine. It moves around a little, but the judicious use of some black foam tape in key spots resolved that. Of course Seidio makes one specific for iPhone 4, but if you already have this product and upgrade your phone, you can still use this holster!
I gave it five stars because there aren't six. Buy with confidence. |

Good, flat holster but clip broke after 5 months of use |
The good:
- Good quality finish plastic, the inside that faces the iphone covered with a thin layer of soft cloth so it doesnt scratch the phone. I have filed a complain just on time (warranty expires in 180 days), so I expect Sidio to replace it for me.
- As flat as it could be, not a bulky belt clip (the ones selling in the apple store are gigantic)
The bad:
- The clip that holds the phone broke after 5 months of normal use, I don't recall dropping the phone while in the holster, so it just broke from normal use. The clip is made of plastic, no metalis parts (other than the spring)
- A couple times the lower part of the "shield case" stayed in my pocket when trying to get the phone out...a few more times is stayed in the car adapter, not a major issue, but it happens.
- I migrated from a blackberry, and I initially felt the "wings" at the corners of the external plastic case were a bit too long, so you need to get used to it when removing the iphone from the case.

Quick Release Clip Breaks |

Case is great. Holster blows. Quick release clip has cheap, thin plastic connecting it to the holster. Breaks easily. Instead of making a better clip, Seidio is replacing holsters until your warranty runs out. Mine snapped after the warranty, so Seidio invited me to buy another one. No thanks (although the case is so great, it is a bit tempting...but no way). |

great out of box, but not durable |

I bought this product almost exactly one year ago. Was very happy with it out of the box. Best case and holster I've ever used. Looks slick. However, the clip on the holster broke after one year, rendering the holster unusable. I don't think I have abused it in any way, just normal use. I see that a few other reviewers have had similar problems. Initial quality I would give five stars, but durability is lacking. |
